Franchising: a survival guide

There are key components involved with franchising your business - it’s not a growth phase in your business but the start of a different type of business, the business of being in business.

The journey begins with a mind set that you will be investing in yourself to amplify what you’ve already achieved - what you’re selling is, in part, the fact that you’ve gone some way to achieving your business goals by building a sustainable business - one which is so sustainable that you can sell from the model.

Design and build your franchising idea with the end in sight. In other words determine your goals and where you desire to end up and plan to build to that end. This is not an easy process and will take time. Getting other people to invest in what is essentially your own future requires planning and honesty. You’ll need to point out the mistakes you made along the way to where you are, embarrassing as they may be, and detail how you dealt with them.

Our report - the franchisor's survival guide - contains a checklist of activities which will help you to stay focused on your target.
