Who we are- the proof, as they say, is in the pudding!
Yaakov was born into franchising- The national chain Godfreys’ started during the depression with one man, Godfrey Cohen, brother to Yaakov's grandfather, buying up old vacuum cleaners; as a solicitor between 1991 and 2002 Yaakov advised both Barterbanc, the barter exchange of the Jims mowing which started with David Penman on a social security scheme known as NEIS, and Barter Express, the franchise started by Frank Crombie. He worked for franchisees including owners of Pets Paradise, Ultra Tune and several successful food chains. His most recent contribution to franchising systems have been (in 2009) Happy High Herbs, Hock-a-car, Aalphabet Services and Sydney Cellular. He now operates a medium enterprise, Beautiful Silks, with his wife; because he's not a textile person he also works in business development; writes legal kits and textbooks for two Australian publishers; and is the volunteer international Co-ordinator of a Third World Institution, the Vikasana Institute of Rural Development.
Yaakov gained his Ph.D in Third World Business Development from Vikasana, where he has helped develop business systems and opportunities for more than 12,000 poor Indian villagers.
