Why are franchise manuals so expensive?
Walk into most business consultancies and they act as if they saw you coming. A set of franchise manuals can cost up to $60,000.
That doesn’t include the cost of the legals.
Surprisingly, many of the franchise specialists walk around documenting your business processes to come up with operational manuals- that’s work you could probably do yourself, if you’d been told how to do it, in half the time... because they don’t work in your business (but you do) it’s takes them twice as long.
We do things differently.
If you have a manual which covers product preparation, (for example coffee barista training in a coffee shop) merchandising, rostering & hiring, marketing, fundraising, wholesaling, equipment care and maintenance, for example, it may only need tweeking. If not, we assume that you only want to pay consultants to do stuff you can’t do. So we save time and money by selling you a template operations manual, and a fairly comprehensive user guide. Your job then is to read the guide, complete the manual and go from there. If you can’t finish it, we’re there to help.
We do not hire lawyers to write the franchise manuals. That’s really not a lawyer’s job, although a lawyer should review the manual before it is published. You don’t need a law degree to observe how a business is being operated.
There are probably areas you need help with... every business does. Our specialists have written manuals longer than some telephone books, and far more detailed... they can operate more efficiently because they achieve an economy of scale, and make more money even though they have reduced their fees. Everyone wins.
